Most years something comes up before our legislature that looks at banning something or another in terms of trapping. The last time around, I wrote to a couple of legislators and told them of the federal grant and research dollars Minnesota would lose out on if Trappers didn’t control predators robbing duck nests. Or the cost to taxpayers if the only removal of nuisance animals had to be done by “approved” commercial nuisance trappers. At significant cost to property owners. And at this point, I asked how many calls they were willing to take from constituents who didn’t like paying hundreds of dollars, or more, to have nuisance beaver, skunks, raccoons, etc removed when Trappers used to pay the state a license fee and did the work for free via the regulated trapping seasons. Money talks. Constant complaints are not what legislators like to hear. This sort of thing gets their attention.
Never too old to learn

I know for how it went in MA that you can call it a ban on trapping. Now they have the benefit of it now with all the animals taken over.

Its old news, not much difference from Colorado,New Jersey,Arizona,Massachusetts,Florida or Washington State. So what I don't understand is that we can all see this happening in States that are under Democrat party control, yet there are numerous among us that continue to vote Democrat. Do we somehow think this stuff can never happen in our states?

Do we somehow think this stuff can never happen in our states? I've often wondered about that too.Didn't want to start a political debate so I didn't post it.

Its old news, not much difference from Colorado,New Jersey,Arizona,Massachusetts,Florida or Washington State. And if you're a ADC trapper and catch a nuisance bobcat in a cage trap, you must either burn or bury it. You can not keep or use any part of it, no matter how prime or pretty it is !

And yet there are guys out there who still think that eventually these people will come around to our way of thinking. You can't get any more naïve than that.
