Wow,those bobcats sure sink into the snow compared to lynx.
Nice shots.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Beauties, every one !

Lovely Montana critters, well furred it looks like.

The cat looks to have amazing rosette spots all over, I really like those types .

Sure would love to see the marten up close !

Good snow cover now.

I haven't pinched a toe with steel in over 20 years. Trapped yotes mainly from 12yrs old on up to my early 40's(?). Too much hard work putting up half frozen stinky yotes on the board with no real return. House no longer stinks, hands don't get half froze, snow doesn't bury sets, etc. etc. The enjoyment I used to get from trapping was anticipation when checking my traps, looking for sign, and basically just being in the brush? Been "camera trapping" for awhile now and get the same excitement checking cams MINUS all the hard work involved trapping with steel? No skinning, close is good enough for a "catch", don't HAVE to check cams if crappy weather, cams don't freeze up, snow level not a concern, animals live to be "caught" again, etc. and I still get my 65 year old carcass out in the brush looking at tracks, seeing what's out there, and mainly enjoying being alone with nature, etc. I "trap" year round (but stop during hunting season). I do pass on my info to a trapping bud who in return supplies me with bait.....

Nice pictures. Seems like you have a lot of experience with this. Which cameras have worked best for you? I am interested in doing this, crazy how fast a bait pile can be eaten up in some of the places I frequent. I would love to have pictures, especially of the wolverine.

Thanks.... I've found Reconyx to be the best as far as reliability and working in cold temps. With that said...I've not had a new Reconyx for 8-9 yrs now so can't comment on "newer" quality? They never were noted for really quality pics but more for reliability. I no longer buy them as I've had 3 stolen over the years at a cost of $1200...OUCH! Now I buy "throw-aways" that on sale cost about $100....if they break, toss em!!! I now have added 2 Browning Strike Force cams to the fleet and so far QUITE impressed with the quality daytime pics, night pics..so so. They've also worked in colder temps were some "el cheapos" quit. Battery life with regular alkaline batts is also excellent! I tried to stay with American made Reconyx but when you lose a cam to a theif it really hurts so I'll be running the Chinese "el cheapos" from now on...and so far, quite happy? I will also ad that some of my Reconyx cams still working are 9-10 years old. Good luck...it's a lot of fun...… Some Reconyx gulo pics for ya.....

Great pics for sure, and lots of quality fur just getting old and well fed.

You know i think we all have a slight twing sometimes as we get older and wiser for a bit more compassion and just live and let live mentality.
Enjoy what you have there!
