I found a real cutie today, an old Stevens model 94 single shot in 28 gauge! Very cute and very clean. I wanted to try to shoot my first turkey with my 410 double with hammers but this one may get tried first. Any other 28 shooters?
I have nothing clever to put here.

Very cool! Someday I will find an 870 with a rib in 28. I have a High Standard now but 870’s are my love.

I had one a few years ago and it was a joy to carry for grouse but I did have troubles with the pendulum resetting and often only got one shot out of it. It was fun to carry though. I couldn’t hit anything with it but that was due to a loose but behind the trigger.
I have nothing clever to put here.

I haven’t fired a shot in anger at a duck in almost 20 years. Shooting 410’s and 28’s I don’t punish many grouse either!

I couldn’t hit anything with it but that was due to a loose but behind the trigger. I have not had that happen yet. Some said that it happens when you do not pull it real tight to your shoulder when shooting. Kind of like limp wristing a pistol. It needs a real solid surface to recoil against to reset.

I was shooting fairly light loads too, even for a 28.

Tell me about this .410 double. I love doubles. I had a W.J. Jeffrey (British, London), circa 1930s in twenty-eight gauge. Twenty-five inch barrels and weighed in right at five pounds. A beautiful gun but I couldn't hit a thing with it. I paid three grand for it. Wish I would have kept it. They go for around six grand today when you can find one.

I have my grandmas 28 gauge it’s a Winchester model 12 that my dad and his brothers bought for her as a birthday present which they sprang for the extras such as upgrade on wood and engraveing with gold inlays of birds and bird dogs
While officially it belongs to me my daughter has it and uses it to shoot trap with
