Has anybody modified a z-trap from push pull to pull only? The reason I ask is because in Wi we can only run pull style and I have a line on some z-traps at a very reasonable price.
50fps, Aside from a myriad ways of turning the trap into pull style only trigger, but are you sure about that? I get why you would think so, since the regs only define the DP as an enclosed trigger trap with a pull-activated trigger.
On the other hand, it does not say anywhere that the push/pull activated traps are not permitted.
Your push/pull dp from Z-traps is still a pull activated trigger trap. It may not be
exclusively pull activated, but I would argue that it does not specifically state that in the regulations.
Not saying you're wrong, or to ignore it and use push/pull triggers, just curious if you can shed a little more light on where you come up with the initial statement that we can only run pull style triggers in WI.
WI DNR 2018 Trapping Regulations, page 4Enclosed Trigger Trap: any trap with a pull-activated trigger located inside an enclosure and
recessed 1¼ inches or more from an opening that is no greater than 1¾ inches in diameter.
The diameter of the opening is measured as the straight line distance across the opening
between the two inside points which are furthest apart. If the opening is square or rectangular,
this measurement must be made from the two opposite corners that are furthest apart.
