I’m guessing you sell to the live market. Mine don’t even growl after a .22 to the noggin.

Ouch...wanted to put LOL but refrained.
I get a couple of pics and pop with the .22
I will say this, while I haven’t caught an over abundance of coyotes, most just lay down and don’t even offer a decent pic. Bobcats on the other hand want to rip my throat out!

bobcats rip with there claws. if you have on lots of clothes where they get you, you won't need sewed up. coyotes can break beef bones by biting them. they wont just nip either. every coyote bite gets bruised like that so far as I know.

Closest I've came a coyote took a chunk out of my hip boots. I've got ALOT of respect for their power and agility. I've never been bitten, pray I never do.. Some yotes are very aggressive , most aren't.

Closest I’ve ever came to being bitten was a fox. Didn’t have a catch pole and was trying to pet it to calm it down so I could release it. It almost got me. Wasn’t it’s lucky day.
I have a buddy that came home one day with a gray fox on the front seat of his truck. Every time it would get antsy, he would tap it on the nose with a stick. Couldn’t believe it when he pulled in the driveway to let it go. He is dead now, but was one of the best trappers I’ve ever known. Some of the stuff he did would make you shake your head.

I got bit this winter. Was running the line and a coyote crossed the road. Dropped him at 200 yards but not a clean kill. Tracked him for a while and was close enough with the 22 mag. to finish him off ( or I though). Dragged him back to the pickup, put the gun away and proceeded to pick him up. Grabbed a front leg and a back leg, and he turned around and latched on to my forearm. Went to the doctor and had it checked out. Broke the skin with two teeth a broke some blood vessels that turned into a huge knot on my arm. Was the most painful thing that has ever happened to me, well except for maybe when I stabbed myself in the leg while skinning beaver. LOL It was by far the biggest coyote I took this winter. Dark, but real heavy.

I actually think i have been luck y to only have been biten twice in 30 years Think about handling thounds of coyote. Over a period of 30 years. In febuary almost got biten again. Proprerty manager went to pull out landowner. Saw coyote in trap about 8 pm. Shot it between the eyes. Told me. Next morning. I saw it. Went to pick up the dead coyote. Then it came back to life. Wasnt dead Shot was off center. Cant believe it was still alive

Steel - I want to make sure that I understand this.

Did you take that photo today? is the photo of the same bite from last August? That still looks terrible!

What have you done to prevent infection and promote healing? Did you get post-bite rabies shots? Did you have pre-bite rabies shots?

What did a doctor do for that bite?

Be careful to not get another. Ouch!

Hey my friend, I am glad it has healed so well. I was worried that it still looked like that. Looking at the overall score you are way ahead of the coyotes!

A friend caught a coyote this past fall and some tree hugging good Samaritan decided he could release it. Long story short.. he was bit on the face, arm and hand and was given a citation by the DEC for interfering with a legally licenced trapper. The guy actually though my friend should be charged!!

Been bit a few times over the years. Fox, coyote and coon. I keep my shots up to date due to my line of work. Had my last series last August.

Fox during that incident as I recall seemed to have the greater pressure. The coyote bit thru a leather glove right thru both sides of my hand just as easy as a hot knife thru soft butter. I was handling lots of animals back in those years so it is bound to happen.
