I finally got some of those newspaper (shopper) boxes. The Trap Shed is great. Some of the rectangular plastic newspaper holders came with the metal brackets on them. Has anyone found a good use for those brackets?

Those that use these newspaper devices for trapping mink, rats, or weasel, etc...lets hear about some of the good ideas you have come up with when using these plastic cubbies on your trap line...

I ran 100 with 160's in them one year for skunk and coon. I can't say I did anything different then when I ran wood boxes. The biggest thing I liked about them is they stack well and they are much lighter than a wood box.

I think I'm going to spray a little paint on some of mine. Break up the color a little bit and make it a little harder for thieves to see.

Put a magnet on the metal brackets, and you can use them for top edge sets inside of metal culverts that are easily adjustable for water depth.

Interesting.

1 thing I saw once was a demo where the instructor put part of 2 newspaper tubes facing each other, with a hole on the back end of each tube, and then put a colony trap inside it.

Paint wont stick to them worth a darn gone the first season. The brackets can be used to mount them to trees or logs to stabilize them

Gotta scuff them with a palm sander if you want paint to stick to them.

Best use I've found is attach inside the truck bed and stack rebar inside.

I could see that being a great idea, Wright. It could certainly help a person stay organized. I should probably try to think of a way to mount 1 in my truck. Even if I just lay the newspaper cubby on the truck bed it would be an improvement.

I bought a magnet on eBay. I'll give it a try. Thanks.

I prepared this 1 the other day. It fits a 155 Duke. Will the smell of fresh spray paint scare fisher or mink?

Take some 1/4 mesh mesh and cover those slots in the back because the squirrels and mice will chew into you bait.
Cut your notches deeper, remember it is a rotating jaw trap you are using. Clips hold it in place in the front and the back slot is filled when the trap goes off.
Did you use special paint for plastics ?

Just fyi, these are known as "motor route tubes" in the industry. Just in case you want to find some on the internet.

Ok

I used a spray paint that said it was compatible with plastic. I roughed it up with sandpaper 1st.
