Caught an otter in a 110 conibear highly unlikely I know! But I'm curious as to whether or not it has ever happened. Thanks guys.

Northwoods 110, which is slightly bigger than a 4.5 X 4.5 with a 220 spring on it.

Never in a 110 because I don't use 110's.I have caught quite a few in mink boxes set with ordinary 120's(not magnums).A 120 will kill an otter stone dead without much if any disturbance. The strike you want on an otter to put its lights out quick is a single strike right behind the ears.
The best trap for targeting strictly otter is the 220.

I'm not asking to target them. They are protected here. As long as I report the incident I would not be in trouble. I just was asking on the possibility because ill be setting for mink with 110s. ( its all I got this year. Other than some 330s ill be ordering.) using blind sets and pockets.

as long as they can flop into water you'll be ok, for dry land sets, its wiser to use 120's

If you can talk an otter to stick his head in a strong 110, he may make a mess, but he will have a tough time getting out of it since he doesn't have much to get a hold of to get any leverage to get it off.
I have had otters (I am assuming huge ones) bend 330 jaws to make enough room to get out, but 330 jaws are wide enough for it to gain some leverage to do that.

If an otter can bend a 330. Dang. That's a heck of an otter.
