He will retrieve on land or water, fur, feathers or scales. He stole a walleye from a guy once when I was ice fishing. The guy was about 100 yards off, he trotted over grabbed a walleye and ran back. He is all hunt.

His name is "Dusty" He had a squirrel up the power pole in the yard yesterday. He sure like hunting, and let me go along.

Oh, was that weasel in the box a surprise? Sure a lot of tracks around that box!

Lee, I took the shotgun and dog for a walk. The weasel box was set across the from the house. We checked it on the way out to hunt birds. When we were coming back the dog kept wanting to run up to the box, when we were over a hundred yards from it, and I kept telling him we had already checked it. I finally let him run up and knew we had a weasel the way he acted when he got there. After I took the weasel out of the trap, I told him to leave it be while I was resetting the trap. He grabbed the weasel and ran for the house. The mink he caught in the yard. He never did care for mink after he caught one. He like hunting muskrats always. We have a hunting season on them and he would swim up to the ice and climb up on top run across and jump and swim out to a rat I shot, climb back on the ice run back across and swim back to me with it. It sure made retrieving rats easy.
