I have 18 round jaw some are offset. I did mod mine base plate and laminate the jaws. If I had to doit over again i would just do the base plate. Either way they do just fine for coyote J

Round jawed. I just heard alot of bad reviews on them as far as how they hold up to coyotes. Definitely not built like mbs but don't seem all that bad. The new square jaw ones are a big improvement

I used them on coyotes when that’s what I could afford and they did ok. They do need a lot of tweaking and a nasty coyote will tear em up pretty bad but they hold. If that’s what I had I’d use em but Not my first choice

I used to set them when I ran out of mb550’s until I had one blow apart on a big yote and lost what would of been quad at that location. I have brought mb’s now where I won’t run out. I just use them for coon when using pocket sets

I too have a few that I use in areas where I get other human traffic and think I may possivly be at risk to lose a trap or two. Duke 2s are cheap alternative to better built coyote traps and they will get the job done just fine. Same with bridger 1.75s that is also an inexpensive alternative trap I use here where I may get some other human traffic. I'd rather lose an $8 new 1.75 brider or a 2 duke about same inexpenisve price than a more pricey modified 2 or 3 bridger or an mb550. I've caught and held plenty of coyotes in the duke 2s and bridger 1.75s. Never could figure out what diference was between a duke 1.75 and a duke 2. Identical traps from what I can tell. The 1.75 bridgers though already have a base plate, center swivel, machine chain, and better frame and jaws for same price range as the duke 2, by the way. Only weak point on the 1.75 is the thin pan and dog. I've unbent and field fixed a lot of duke 2s and duke 1.75s after coyote catches but they do work just fine for what I ask of mine. You know I also use them where I think I might have either coon or coyote catches too. Lot less room under jaws of a duke 2 than a bridger 3. Jim

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Quit long- chaining them and there shouldn't be anymore ( blowouts). They ain't perfect but once they catch, they seem to hold just fine!

I agree, a good way to keep coyotes from pulling out is pin em down with a short chain that’s got three swivels and either cross stake or use super stakes. They can’t lunge hard and build momentum that way. I like my 550s with about 8 or 9 inches of chain.
