I've always used a coon hunting helmet and light similar to nite nite but made by smart lights. Really neat set up with a rechargeable battery pack on the back of the helmet about the size of a deck of cards and very bright led light that can spot a field easily and lasts about a month of everyday use. However mine is pretty beat up and it's about 7 years old. With the way lighting technology has grown I'm wondering before I order another one what does everyone else use? Is there something better out by now? I do like checking traps from a distance so the "spotlight" beam is a must. Thanks

I like Princeton tec lights myself. Just not a fan of the helmet lights.

I’ve been running a pelican headlamp for 7years- good tough light but poor battery life. Purchased a Blackice Storm 375 this spring for collecting maple sap and training for some all night endurance events and the light is really impressive for the weight. My buddy also ran the same light for backpack elk hunting earlier this month, with happy results. The spot light and battery life are great. If you’re looking for a big spot light style I’d look into their Icon with a 500lumen spot light.

I bought a wicked hunting lights headlamp for night hunting and started using it checking my line as well cause most of my checks are in the dark. I do use a black diamond headlamp, not sure what model, on my hard hat at work, good light, battery life is pretty good, and has two power settings, changed easily.

Coast headlamps are hard to beat. They have a wide variety of different ones as well. Mine is the zoomable 600 I think

Coast here, too. Throws a beam for a LONG ways and you can pick up eye reflections really far out in a field.
I bought a few at home depot and didnt pay much for them. Last forever.

I have great night vision, and only use small lights that clip on the bill of my hat. To much light is distracting to me. I carry a small flashlight in my pocket for backup.

I’ve got a couple various different headlamps. Nite lite, coast, etc... anymore if I can’t hit them with the truck door I don’t set it. But if a guy had to walk a line I wouldn’t hesitate to get a good led coon hunting light.

I like the light weight L.E.D lites for quick and short jaunts. But if I am to be out for a long time or I am tired of dead or low batteries I always turn to my "ole reliable" Nite Lite brand battery on the belt lite on the cap headlamp. They last..... they give 20 or 40 hours plus of good bright lite. A beam that goes out a for a long ways. And they recharge.... hundreds of times. I am on my second one... in 40 years... 40 years of heavy use. My first would still be going but I retired the old bulb for the new L.E.D. technology. Of course I am a dealer so maybe I kinda favor them .But They are a good lite. [Linked Image]

Fenix brand headlamps and flashlights. Lost my first one in the woods, found it a year later on a heavily used game trail. Turned right on, battery ran a normal amount of time like I charged it that morning. Awesome products. Very bright. Rechargeable batteries save tons on money.
