Shame you could not keep it. But, I turned one in once too. Mine came from about 10 miles east of Jamestown and 8 north. Cubby set, 160 Belisle, about 40 yards from the water. They have been spotted in Bismarck on the river.

My uncle on Big Stone Lake on the Minnesota, Dakota border caught one 25 years ago and had to turn it in. The state mounted it. That was one of the first in the area. He is gone 22 years and would be delighted to know how they have spread through the region in all three states. The Red and Little Minnesota must be premier habitat.

Yep otter

Lots of them around here have to turn in several incidentals ever year because there either over my limit or caught outside the season

And if don’t even bother setting for the things anymore they just show up in any water set and last year I got one in a bobcat set a mile or so from the nearest water

The fisher came out of first body gripper the day after I pulled this double.

Geez. Nice catch but that sucks.

You may think before you act. The question is did you listen to your own council?

It's nice of the state to introduce these fisher and give resident trappers an opportunity to catch one but they're areas that are thick with them, I don't use baited boxes/cubbies for coons because of the chances of incidentals with fisher. I've talked with 6 different bow hunters in this area who have seen them while in the bow stand including myself.

Actually I caught him on the 5th. I've got active baits out with fishers on them for the 25th...

The state of North Dakota introduced fishers?

I can't set for anything cool like a Fischer here. The state doesn't want anyone to catch any Martin. I saw a Martin a few years ago, haven't seen a fischer, wouldn't surprise me that they are here. So are wolves, bobcats, mountain lions and bears. But the state doesn't want to admit that.

Yes Bernie..

My bad, I assumed they were introduced but looking into it it seems that that the population was started by fishers moving into ND and the Red river valley from Minnesota.

That makes more sense. They'll probably do well in the turtle mountains.
