I used hulls for years back in 90s. A little pricey and worked well for coyote sets in cold late season if it was dry. Even hulls would frost over and would have to lift a layer of crusted hulls off my traps every once and awhile to keep em.operating in late season. Very light to carry for us foot trappers for coyote and coon. I put mine up in clean 1 gallon milk jugs for easy pouring, carrying, and stashing in nearby brush piles for set remakes. I've switched to waxed dirt or chopped straw these days. Have bought a bag of andy stoes hulls in years. Saw they had really gone up in price lately. Wowzers.
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Probably do not want to use vermiculite. Older hazmat teams used it as an absorbent. It absorbs water extremely well.
Ya can't miss fur if yur traps are out somewhere. Or so I've been told.

More of a cover, like hulls. Never could bed in hulls had to use the pins like in dobbins book or use waxed dirt. Jim

Pair of good scissors and a big handful of dry grass Do you bed the trap in the dry grass, or just cover with it?
When life gets me down..... you know hunting/trapping season is closed.
