I just bought an Arctic Oven tent and need to get a stove for it. I am looking for recommendations. How are the stoves Alaska Tent and Tarp sell? This is the AO10 with vestibule.

I have a AO10 with stove from ak tent works pretty good but would recommend getting the biggest one they sell and get a solid pipe . I bought the med one works ok but will not hold fire long . Was going to try one of them half pipe ones from frontier with removable legs think it will hold fire longer .

I have been looking at the fourdog stoves. The are supposed to be airtight. They might hold a fire all night. The $150 cost of shipping one up here is daunting.

I was looking at their webpage. They didn't seem to be out of business but might be.

I have a Four Dogs stove an it is far from airtight . Worth the money for it’s light weight and longevity. it will run you out when it takes off . I use it on fly out trips. Give me a couple weeks, i’m In the process of building a new airtight stove for myself. Will be a little heavy but hold fire and heat all night. I not worried about the weight in my sled as much as comfort. I making this one 12” x 20” x 1/4”

We have a two-dog, a couple three-dogs, and a four-dog. All are very airtight. I'm surprised to read this, as other owners of the dog stoves I know are very pleased with them.

Are you going to build stoves to sell also?

I have a two dog as well. I use it in an AO12. It’s airtight and works well. I have the stackable stove pipe which fits inside the stove nicely when transporting. The titanium stove would be the way to go if you can afford it. I picked my stove up in MN when I was down there visiting family. The owner is a straight shooter. Honest as they come. He builds these stove out of a shop next to his home. His hobby is pulling Mules. He knows everything there is to know about them. Good luck with your hunt for the perfect stove.

If you are able to weld, may want to make one. I made one this summer out of air duct material. It is good for summer and fall time use. I will need to make one with thicker material for winter time use. The bigger the stove the better. My dad welded one together and that one runs pretty good.

I have a buddy with an extra Trekker sheet metal stove. He is selling it to me cheap. It doesn't hold a fire long but it puts out good heat.

I saw the Shockley setup at an outdoor show2 weeks ago. I was impressed. They had a little propane stove in there. Was impressed with it. Being able to set up and heat a shelter in maybe an hour was a selling point. You would have to carry a 25 pound propane bottle tho.
If I was setting up for a lengthy time period, might want something bigger. There were extras for it that came separate. Floor cover for one. Looks like you would be over 2000 bucks into it to have tent, stove, floor cover.

Yea they are not cheap thats for sure. They are good tents though. The outfitter I work for has a bunch of the 12 foot models. Good size for fall hunts but to big for what I need. I havent seen the floor covers but I really like the footprints they sell. Keeps sticks and moisture from coming up through the floor. Think I will get the extreme 10 foot model. I have one of those propane buddy heaters I will use in it.

Anyone carry a carbon monoxide detector ?? A good friend of ours was killed a couple weeks ago in a cabin when the heater went south. There were 5 people in the building and all of them were unconscious when a neighbour found them. Three of them are still in the hospital so its nothing to mess with.
