And yet you signed on to the EU's Agreement on International Humane Trapping Standards. You sure hoodwinked 'em. LOL

Yes why wouldn't we,we lost nothing and gained a great deal. Now they had to meet our standards.

And funny thing-it is still trappers today that are continually improving traps and systems, not governments or antis like Alcide stated so many years ago.

We use the most effective traps to trap fur.Europe put no traps on the aihts list(well maybe one or two from germany submitted to the trap testing facility in alberta and passed by Canadians)and does no trap testing as far as I know. All the traps on the aihts are certified in Canada to our trapping standards by Canadians who spearheded humane trap development back in the 70's.Europe didn't get on board until the 90's.They didn't know or like the fact that we already had developed humane traps and had the data to prove it. Humane trapping and improved traps and standards were developed by trappers in North America, not Europeans. ......let it go boco the mother ship is sinking!!!! C+T is going down with her!!! not going to save the fur trade!!! will just add more unneeded restrictions on trappers and fuel for the antis if not followed!

Reading Boco's posts make it crystal clear how CAN ended up with Trudeau.

now that's just mean Angela. Naw just honest. Boco claims to be a conservative, but when your country's "conservatives" are more liberal than your liberals, you end up with Trudeau. Think "Romney".....

Has anybody had any problem with the reissued checks. The original checks bounced. I have four accounts worth of reissued checks. I have not had time to deposit my checks. All the new checks are just copies of the old checks. My bank says they are good checks and they will be honored just like the old ones. Problem is, I was charged a fee for the check bouncing. Good to see you Don. I was thinking about you and wondering how you were faring with all this mess.

The folks fighting fur want to see the fur trade abolished completely, along with all hunting, trapping and farming. And all other consumptive use of natural resources.

Of course not they are in the protest industry. If they can make money protesting fur then they will. Doesn't matter if its farmed fur, trapped fur, road killed fur, shot fur, whatever. They are protesting fur, period, and the strategy is to shame people to not wear fur, Certified or not.

It will damage the livelihood of remote communities, many of them indigenous tribes in Russia and Canada,
An import ban would almost certainly be attacked as illegal under world trade rules.
Good find there Mainer. These 2 quotes are what finally mattered in the end. Canada, still essentially a European outpost (look at the queens picture on their $), came to heel much more obediently than the US which agreed to test traps and formulate BMP's and told the EU we'll see you in court if you try to ban our fur.
