Thanks guys, this post has been a lot of fun. So cool reading all the replies and experiences you've had. At 62, 16 sometimes seems like so long ago yet just like yesterday!

We’ll heck. My first vehicle was a 1989 ford ranger, I’ll love her till the day I die. If I could own another I would

My first was a 1967 gmc pickup, been some good times in it. Back in the 80's it hauled in a few coon's. Still miss it. So a few years ago i found a 1969 chevy, slowly fixing it up. 2nd car was a 1967 chevy chevelle, was told it needed a engine cause it over heated. But a thermostat and a good used radiator and the way we went. That one was hard to keep tires on lol. It to wish i still had. Till i find one of them i got ol' red to keep me young ( picture if i can).

Frankenstein truck. 55 chevy engine and chassis, 71 Chevy cab , some international front end,box was 3/8 sheet metal with toolboxes welded in on both sides. Some loggers built it for skidding logs and traded it to my grandfather for doing some welding we did for them. Grandpa told me if I could get it running I could have it. Straight 6 with 4 on the floor and granny low. Thing was a beast buy 45 was top speed going down hill with a back wind. I was 15 and self taught myself a Lot about working on engines. Sure wish I had still had that thing.

That sounds like a good idea! Based on all of the people I have heard talk about their first vehicle they all wish they kept it! trapre: Lesson to be learned from these is don't ever get rid of it. Park it somewhere when you are done and you will someday thank yourself.

Mine was a 68 Jeep Wagoneer, this same color before I started in making it the ultimate cruise vessel, with a custom paint job, big tires and wheels, 8 track, you know all the cool stuff. I would get up in the middle of the night and drive all the back alleys when we had a big snow storm just to find deep fresh snow to play in. Seems like nobody had 4 wheel drive back then. It had a 350 buick engine in it right from the factory.
