First mink, caught in a 110 Victor conibear in a hole in deep water, it was a female. That catch was made in the fall/winter of 1963.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

This groundhog, who I called Frosty Francis, is probably my most memorable catch.

My first fed fox caught in my first snare. Set under a fence and caught him the next day. No picture but was a beautiful cherry red, something I have yet to catch another of. Got $45.00 on the carcass and for a kid in the mid 70's who was getting .25 for pocket gophers, that was big $$!

Walking up on my first coyote double. I'll never forget that day. We dont have many coyotes around my area so it was a nice surprise.

A skunk I got when I was 12 years old. Set a foot hold in front of a hole under the house. The trap was under the house and the stake was outside the house. Pulled on the chain and seen it was a skunk. Hook a 10 foot pole to the ring of the trap and took the trap and skunk down to the creek to drowned the skunk. Put the skunk in the creek but the water was on 8 inches deep. The rest of the story does not smell that good. LOL now.

Nope...not one hole in the pelts ...they measured 55 inches each....and I had them made into 16 inch Beaver Gloves...needed 2 pelts, which was perfect!

First coyote I caught on my own. My dad and I had caught a few when I was younger but this one was really memorable to me. Ran half a dozen (mediocre) sets (in terrible locations) for 2 or 3 weeks in the snow before finally connecting. Still remember the sound of the chain jingling.

My fist mink trapping with my grandfather. Not sure who was more excited. I know we where both yelling and squealing with joy. Oh and so was the mink squealing. I will never forget that day. That is was 1979.

My 1st memorable catch was my 1st mink. Caught in a #1 victor long spring set for weasel on my grandparents farm many years ago. If grandma knew I took one of her old chickens for bait I think I would have been in trouble.
