Has anyone used sheep as a base for a bait? I have a farmer who is putting a sheep down tmrw and asked if I wanted it to use as a bait. I never have, but don't know why it wouldn't work. Just curious if anyone else has tried it.

Wouldn't know why it wouldn't. I do know some meats works better than others but has never test sheep.

If it’s been sick and he’s been medicating it you may not do too good. I tried one like that once and no coyote was interested. I tossed out the carcass and they didn’t eat that either.

That is what I was about to say.

Well that answers a situation I had last year.
I'm trapping on this property that has some sheep and the farmer tossed out a sheep carcass. The coyotes walked right over it but never ate any of it. I did catch some coyotes In the area but none around that carcass.
I just figured if a coyote was hungry they would eat anything.

It's lambing time know and I picked up two dead lambs yesterday. I'm assuming they aren't medicated so they might work out as bait.
