you dont need to do anthing. if it was properly collected it will keep indefinitelyThanks Danny.Yo Danny, I visited the urine dealer and witnessed the collection process on coyote and red fox urine. It was filtered 2x, once with screen, second with paint filter cloth. Couldn't see through it, smelled good. However, their just about has to be small amounts of digestive waste within the urine. I may have it for 3 years (5 gal). Now, if you was to add something to slow down or stop the decomp of those tiny particles of scat, what would it be? I've heard SB or ZV.

When I pen up an animal for collection i do it in winter. I feed rabbits . Tame or wild doesnt matter much. I feed them froze. Dont feed to much you want the animal (s) hungry. They will clean it up in a few minutes. There is no blood or particles. I dont filter it. There is no reason too. urine from those fox pens is not the same stuff. different feed and different operation entirely. Animal has to stick its head through a hole into a small cage the size of the water bucket to get a drink so no water is splashed into the pee either, in my collection pen.
winter collected, from a clean pen, meat fed animal, you dont need to do anything

if you got it from the lost 40 tree farm or one legged johnny i am sure it doesn't need anything added. just a lid so it wont evaporate and a good shaking when you pour or squirt any out to mix that sediment (white stuff) back into it.

if it gets to smelling like a sewer, or gets clear, don't buy anymore there.
put a little on a grass clump in your yard and see if your dog pees on it.

put a little out where a coyote will find it with a trail camera pointed at it.

if your worried the guy you bought it from can not be trusted to tell the truth why buy anything there in the first place?

Regardless of who I bought from, I would wonder about fecal material and long term storage. I wouldn't have bought it if I hadn't trusted him. Until I see a set up where urine goes in one spot and feces goes in another, I'm just gonna feel this way. I could make pint after pint of this stuff diluted. Sell quick, use quick. How long do the pros keep their urine? Maybe this is just more than I need.

I opened a jar this afternoon I collected by penning a single coyote in 2007. Urine kept in the fur shed. Sometimes heated sometimes not. Never airconditioned. Over a hundred in there during the summer a lot. Below 0 every winter when the heat was left off. Nothing added. Winter collected from a meat fed animal. Ammonia smell burnt my nose. I left the lid off a few minutes. Stuff is fine. No sewer smell. I will be setting traps tomorrow and will see if the critters still like it.

That old urine stored out in a shed with no preservatives is still producing. I cant post pictures straight off my phone and no computer where I’m at.
