Seen everything common here in a tree except red Fox, skunk, beaver and muskrat.

I have to add possum also Boco. After thinking about it, I never personally saw a possum up a tree.

Saw on my trail camera a snowshoe hare go up a tree that was slightly steeper than a 45 degree angle. It went up about 5-6 feet and stayed there a minute. Appeared to be frolicking with another hare.

Was fishing for trout on the local river and had two red fox climbing up a tree that hung over the river playing, they got as high as 20 ft up in that tree, kinda surprised me

When the last time you saw a beaver in a tree? Their sure not built for tree climbing.

I've never seen one in a tree, but I heard possum can climb trees. With their prehensile tails and front paws, it wouldn't surprise me. Some of the trappers farther south would be better experts on that.

The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never let the dumbest ones lead the pack.

I have seen a coyote video where they climbed up in a tree to eat crab apples.

Here is an otter that I would guess had to climb a little.
My wife saw a weasel bouncing back and forth between two burn barrels until it made it to the top a couple days ago. The barrels are about a foot apart. [Linked Image]

The oddest thing I ever saw climbing a tree were baby owls. I was spring gobbler hunting one morning, and out of no where, crows starting coming and began swooping down and attacking an owls’s nest, that I hadn’t noticed. They knocked two small owls out of the nest, and they fell about 30 feet out of the oak where their nest was located. After a few moments, those two little owls proceeded to walk up the side of that tree, almost at a 90 degree angle to the tree. A short time later, they were back in the nest and a big owl came and sat on the nest.

I walked into my hay barn and noticed one of our domestic rabbits we kicked out 6 months ago up on top of the hay about 20 feet up in the air.....I was not expecting that.

I would be interested in hearing first hand information(no hearsay or old wives tales) about animals not normally associated with being arboreal that trappers have seen climbing.
I have caught several foxes over the years in elevated marten boxes on trees 5 feet up(no running pole).I believe these animals jumped up(not climbed) on top of the box and were caught.

Someone posted picture on a Manitoba based face book page of an otter caught in a marten box.

My dog chased a opossum up a small tree a couple years ago. Didn't take it long to get high enough too avoid the dog.

I climbed a 80 ft. light pole to change bulbs , and found a rabbit on the cross arms ...
Figured I had disrupted a hawk or eagles lunch ..
