Any idea how many states this trap will be legal vs illegal in? With the cast jaw can it be inside laminated easily?

Here's the email I just got from Bill. Looks like a no go for land trapping in Indiana, can't be over 6 1/2" inside jaw to jaw or post to post. bummer.
I needed to get accurate measurements for you this morning. Jaw Post to Jaw Post inside 7-1/2" 6-3/4" outside jaw spread 6-1/8" inside jaw spread
Every state is different with jaw spread regulations and how to measure.
Bill Duke It's legal here same inside jaw spread as a bridger 3. I like having options and a round jaw traps.

They dropped the ball on this one. You would think they would want it legal in as many states as reasonably possible. Just that 1/8 on the inside spread is knocking them out of several states.

My hope is they release a "600" in the next few years that falls between the 550 and 650., say the size of the duke #3 . I ask Bill for this in an email, if enough guy ask for it, we might see it. And I was ready to drop coin on a dozen 650's , but the state of Indiana knows best. Been asking for two years now.

Alabama 6" inside spread. You can take a 1/16 th lamination put them one each side and get them to the 6 inch inside measurement. I know a guy that runs # 4 s in Alabama. Their laminated Monster traps.

I talked to Bill today It sounds like the retail price will be about $185.00 per doz.
He also said this on the 650 size thing. It's hard to keep everyone happy.
The 750 Is in the design stages and maybe 2 years out. If I remember right there will be a offset jaw option.

I hope they do a bunch or research on the holding power of beaver and otter if the Duke 750 is of the same design as their 550 and 650 with wide smooth jaws. A toothed option could be awesome! Many states allow toothed traps for beaver under water. They are legal here in Iowa.
