Why is gas 4 dollars a gallon in Ontario? Is it remote in your corner of the world? Danny, the gas price is high even around the big cities in Ontario. They do have better roads than we do in Virginia. I travel all over Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan each year and the roads are horrible. It always baffles me that the road taxes are so high but the roads are so bad. Not sure where all the money goes, except for the fact that most of it has low population. 90% of the people in Canada live within 100 miles of the US border, so they must be spending all that road tax money in the cities.

If gas taxes are utilized like MN. a good portion goes to public transportation, mostly in the big cities. It's no wonder roads and bridges are in the condition they are in. In Virginia, we have an annual car tax to fund the local transit system. It pays to drive an old clunker in Virginia because the taxes are lower on older cars.

Yep, and now they are planning to decriminalize riding public transportation without a ticket. No one will ride unless it is free, so it can't possibly support itself. I would like to criminalize the use of gas tax for anything but what it was intended for, road and bridge construction and maintenance.

$2.17 was the best price I found in our area.
Most in this country have things people in other countries only dream about. Yet, they want America to be more like those other countries.
