I’ve seen a lot of crashes over the last 30 years. Never have I seen one that worried me as much as that one. I hope I’m wrong, but that looked bad.

That didn't good. Hit right at the driver.

I gasped loudly when the crash occurred. Pray for the best outcome but
honestly that was a bad wreck!

There have been a lot of wrecks at Daytona over the years Newman's wreck is right up there with some of the worst I've ever seen

He hit the wall very hard first then flipped over onto roof and then t-boned at high rate of speed on drivers door side. Prayers continue!

Pretty dramatic finish for sure. I can only hope that Newman lived though that.....looked bad.

Yea, it looked like it collapsed the rollcage because it missed the door.

Good news if any is it seemed like they got him right out so he must been talking.

Did they get him out of the car right off the bat? And into an ambulance?

That was as bad as I have seen.

Seemed pretty soon that they said he was on his way to hospital. That's all they said tho.

Sure seemed like it took a while. At least 5 minutes I thought. Which is not normal.

I have a bad feeling about this one. Especially by the way Jeff Gordon got really emotional in his closing statement.

No news at all yet, that's worrisome.

Remember watching Sr's wreck, and thinking it didn't look that bad. This one sure looked worse, hoping for the best.

Absolutely. This wreck was a lot worse as far as multiple impacts although technology and the head restraint full face helmets might make a difference.

It took them a good 5-10 minutes to get him out of the car.

They never really showed much of the car once they got close to extracting him.
