Is there a difference in this "O'Gorman brand" and what some of the other suppliers are carrying? I imagine there are only a few S Korean mills that are making this cable. If there isn't any info on the difference what supplier do you big snare guys use for 1x19, 5/64 coyote cable? Thanks

" Crucible Garrotting " That's just marketing hype. Snare Shop and MTP are just 2 sources of Korean cable. There are others.

I'm going to go with Newt on this one.
All Korean cable is NOT the same and many trappers are now coming to understand that much of the cable sold by supply houses is NOT the best cable to use on the trap line, especially for coyote !
There are many grades of cable out there sold and QUALITY KOREAN cable will far surpass Chinese and (sadly) even American cable, especially in the 1 X 19 size.

O'Gorman does sell what can also be called : Korean.

So long as its not cast (cork-screw shaped off the spool) its just fine for snaring IMO. I've always bought the cheapest cable I can find and only a couple times have I gotten a cast spool and the supplier replaced them no charge. I have no idea what country it was made.

Thanks for the replies! I am fairly new to snaring and gave it my first honest go last season. I ended up snaring around 30 coyotes and had used O'Gorman snares. They preformed well and am happy with the results. I ended up running out of snares so borrowed a few from friends. Most of the borrowed snares worked well also, Some not so much. I am looking at placing an order soon to build a few hundred snares for next season, The cable I was looking at specifically was from the snare shop. The setup I will make is 1x19- 5/64 with a 7x7, 3/32 tail. In line barrel swivel, death blow w/teeth cam lock, 285# BAD and 1/2" plastic tube wammy. I snared mostly fence cross unders but will be snaring willows as well next season. Kill poles where needed and I have a support system I like. Any other info is much appreciated!

You are correct. Forgot to mention those. I will use the 75# kill springs.
