Braintanning? I see someone else uses the high dollar fleshing beam.

Hoping to, I have to go get the head out of my FIL freezer. Lol.
I have only done 1 braintan and one egg yoke tan and I like the outcome of the brain better for sure.
Smells a bit funny for a couple weeks though lol.
And I Love my high dollar beam! found it under my neighbors shed! I did finally get a proper fleshing knife and works sooo much better on the grain layer!

These are my first 2.
It’s been so amazing to learn how to do this! I have one more in the freezer I will be doing hair on tan with. It will be my second. But she’s much bigger.

That is awesome! I haven’t gotten to the smoking yet but I have bags of punk wood ready! Lol do you sew or glue yours together?

I hand sew them. I'm using a long pipe into the smoker so no danger of flare-ups catching the skirt on fire.

Nice. I’ve done both to patch holes, non of my hides are similar sized so that been a little challenge. I may have to do them individually. I hadn’t thought of adding a pipe. I think I have some, I don’t want to mess them up so thank you for that.
