I was getting as high as I wanted to go with the old tractor glad we pealed them in May and lost a bunch of weight.
To tell the truth I enjoy working with them. Lots of work but its rewarding.

Man, I really loved this build. Now I have to say I'm sure disappointed in that roof. I just feel you sold yourself short on an awesome cool build. The rest I think looks terrific!!!

What species of tree are you using? The logs look perfect.

I wanted to do shakes but not at 400 a square. Logs are red pine out of a plantation. Guy that cut them for me didn't follow directions and left the butt cut on them. Was supposed to cut one 8 then the 16 footer.

Makeing progress. I'm sure you guys will call me out on the cheap menards door. But the goal is dried in before it gets cold and get the pallet stove in it.

Mortar and metal lath. See how it holds up. Can always be redone.

Looks good !

A couple of old timers ( both gone now ) built several log buildings using hardware cloth and mortar for chinking. The oldest building is over 20 years old and still looks good .

i built one and use mortar , mortar holds moisture , if I do it again I will use silicone, from the ones I've look at ,its a lot less work in the long, jmo
