Caught a double on em a few days back. No season here unfortunately. When I rolled up to them, 3 or 4 more were howling over the next hill. Waiting on these two I guess? Called fish and game and they came out to radio collar them. Tore up the one pan pretty good. Called Bill this morning to ask for a pan replacement..none in stock yet. But, he said ill just send ya a new one for free to replace it. Pretty kind of him and thought I'd share.

I've been whacking the coyotes in the 650s and really like them. No problems at all with the trap other than not being able to get the higher pan tension I like to run. I have bent the dog to raise the tension and still no luck.

Got some cool pictures out of the deal anyway. I'm guessing F&G sedated them to put the collars on and release them. Were you able to be part of it? Details (gender, weight, age, etc.)?

Yep, those Dukes are nothing but junk. LOL With a little tweaking on that pan, you should be able to make it workable again.

Yeah I was there the whole time. Couple hour ordeal, they sedated them. Took blood, hair, scat, weight, measured the canines, and fitted them both with radio collars. Female weighed 60 lbs, they guessed her at a year old. The other a year old male at 65lbs. Was a bitter sweet experience. Hate to see them and the destruction they're causing around here with no season. On the other hand..They're a beautiful animal and was a cool experience.

As a new trapper of coyotes, that seems like a dream come true! I’m not sure how I’d feel about releasing them, but I’d still love to catch one some day.

I would find it quite interesting to be a part of that. Cool experience!
