Any of you NY guys gonna trap some beaver, let’s see some pics. I mixed some lure, got some traps tagged and tuned think I’ll set a few.

Looks like you need to upgrade some of your beaver bodygrips.
Those old series 1 victors aint he best for the pelts.
OK for nuisance if the springs are strong.

I'm ready to go too newfox. I'm in region 9. Only have two small spots to trap but hopefully get some phonecalls for more. Season here opens the 25th but DEC may move that up to the 10th guess we'll find out in a couple days if they are going to do that.

Boco, at the current prices I may have to resort to a lasso.

Had a good day, got six sets in. Seen some otter sign in last nights snow,I’ll take a couple 280 tomorrow I seen 1 muskrat,1 mink,1 deer. Yea that beaver lure is a good batch he wanted to take it outta my basket. Big money fur couldn’t have made today anymore fun.

I think the lasso may be a bit pricey. Here it’d take 15-20 Coons to cover the cost of a trap

Had a good check,2 for 6 plus one sprung trap. Set couple otter traps 4 mink and rat sets.
Lots of fresh otter sign.

Probably set a couple here tomorrow.

Had a great check today, found a few more. Didn’t set any new traps today, I’ve got enough to do for now, no otter YET!

Real nice day,added three sets, took away five, 10 chances for next check.

Just one beaver today, very much alive, setting on bank with 280 belisle on both front legs.can anyone tell me how this happens?

Beaver stopped at the trap and tried to move it,instead of moving thru.
Could have resulted from setting in the transition area where beaver shifts from swimming to walking,trap not stabilized solid enough or some induced castor scent on/too near trap.

Thanks Boco, I had the trap at the bottom of crossover in about ten inches of water with a stick or two over the top, the crossover started to raise fairly close to trap.two other sets I had the beaver move the duck sticks from top of trap.?

Another real nice November day, no beaver today, got caught up on my skinning, gonna pull traps tommorow and reset next week on hunting club that I've trapped for last 2 or 3 years. Hope to have an otter tomorrow.

Boco, putting pelts in freezer until I'm done trapping, I'll put them up this winter, put up is really enjoyable for me, I'll post some pics.
