All I own is a set of Nikon 10x42mm Monarchs that are about 15 years old. I been wanting to buy a new set.

Leupold BX-5 HD binos in 10x42mm vs Leupold BX-4 Pro Guide HD 10x42mm??? Anyone own either of these ?? Or any or advice????

Also considering 10x50mm possibly.

I have the same Nikons and I also have the Leupold BX2 in 10x42. Can't really tell much difference. The Leupolds MIGHT be a bit clearer at the edges......MIGHT

X2. Spend as much as you can afford and they’ll replace them for life

I have the BX-4s Ii aquired through a warranty issue. The focus adjustment alwsys seems to inadvertently get moved. But they are easy to adjust back. I have an old set of 9x35 gold rings. I like the Gold rings much better.

I have a pair of the BX-2 Cascades in 10x42. It's true that Leupold will repair or replace them if they fail. My first pair failed during the final minutes of a stalk on a guided elk hunt. Suddenly and for no apparent reason the focus adjustment ceased working rendering them useless. Leupold sent me a new pair but I don't have confidence in them any more. For hunting near home I consider them fine and a good buy, but if I had more invested in a hunt than a short drive, I would invest more in my binos.

I feel binoculars are a lot like prescription glasses. Just because you can see through them, doesn't mean I can. Yes some are junk and no one can see through them. I say the best thing to do is go look through some at the distance you will be using them. you will be able to pick what works for you then.

I recently got a pair of BX-2 alpines. I really like them so far
