Have caught several skunks in coyote sets lately. Got to thinking back and cannot recall catching a coyote in are make after a skunk catch. I remember catching bobcats after skunk catches quite a few times. I remember catching fox after a skunk catch but I'll be darned if I can remember catching a coyote after a skunk catch.
What is your opinion? Have you caught coyotes after a skunk?

Some swear by it. Last skunk remake I had caught a badger though. I dont have very good luck with skunk remakes except to catch more skunks or badger.

In my opinion a skunk remake is the best canine set you can make. Every time I catch a skunk in a coyote set it makes me happy because in my experience that set becomes a canine magnet. I almost always catch a coyote or fox in a skunk remake within a couple days.

I have great luck with bait at skunk remakes but also put in another new set nearby if you are not confident in the remake.

Sometimes I take the skunky dirt and make a mound of it like a gopher mound and put trap in front of it then make a new set close by.

They never have been too productive for me. Ill take a coyote remake all day long.

At the end of the day, it comes down to the wants, needs, and individual personality of the canine. Some will run in for a meal, others may not like skunks because of bad experience, and others have curiosity. For that reason, I think it’s good practice to reset the set and place a new set nearby with new smell(s). This way you appeal to the wants/needs of more types of personality - so to say.

Buried road kill skunk set has always been a high percentage coyote set for me. And skunk catch in coyote trap always gets reset as well.

Good and free call lure, always reset nothing wrong with fur in the trap.
Be a skunk be a coyote, never kept track but I've caught coyote s in the skunk remake.

Nothing wrong a a badger or skunk in a remake. Its all in the processing.

In case nobody has noticed, a well processed skunk (essence, empty gland, hide, skull, feet skinned), that didnt blow its load, is worth more than the avg coyote.

A good sized heavy badger, 14-18 bucks putup w the feet skinned.

How do you skin that stinky animal you catch in your skunk remake? I did just that, caught a coon and believe me, it was not worth what I had to go through to get rid of the skunk smell on the coon. Or, are you all talking about a non skinky skunk remake?

After a skunk catch I pull the trap and place a new trap and set just outside the catch circle so the next catch won't be rolling around in the skunked up catch circle. Have caught coyotes that stink like they were sprayed. I think they would go rub or roll in the catch circle from the skunk then go investigate the new set and get caught.

I have caught 10 skunks so far. None have sprayed when caught. I inject them and I have had no skunk smell. I have caught 3 coyotes where I have caught those skunks.
I don't think It's what you catch I think It's all about the catch circle.

New set nearby is way to go for me. No sense having skunky furs in fur shed from skunk remake.

Skunk remakes have always been king here. Coyotes, cats, badgers, or whatever walks by. If I had two scents in the world to use it would be skunk and beaver castor.
