What do y’all carry on the line for note keeping? I was trying to find a tiny pocket size binder that I could print out data sheets to put into but haven’t found anything.

That's what I'm using. Found one by Rite in the Rin. So I can hopefully not forget what I did.

Used to use a spiral notebook but have started using a smaller one that fits in my pocket. It seems I get things entered more timely that way. Also don't write as much stuff anymore, just some very basic and some of my shorthand stuff.

I put maps, either hand drawn or topos, fitted into gallon size ziplocks. Then use marker on outside of ziplock to mark set locations

TILL THAT DAY.....

Since I use a Garmin gps, I just mark my waypoints, and then in the remarks use my own shorthand to tell me what is there at that location.
What nice about it then I can download it to my computer and keep it for the following years.

I am using a google doc spreadsheet to track my sets. I have a second spreadsheet for lures so I can track which ones are working the best. I am tracking 7 different lures currently.

I'm going to try it- I usually keep a small note pad in a ziplock and then transfer my notes at the end of the day.
I also make footnotes for "what I need tomorrow" and then put that gear and those traps in my truck when I get home.

All my notes are in my head. Sometimes I think I should keep notes, but why add unnecessary paperwork?

I'm fortunate enough to not have to worry about trap theft. My father's 180 and 2 other private area's are access controlled. So I use bright pink surveyors tape. On each one I write the lure/bait conbo. I just put the ATV in the back of the truck and away we go. Trapping bag on the front rack and the rear is for hauling critters.

Lately, I've been taking about a five second video of the set on my phone, and say the bait or lure in the video. I can then write it down later. I have tried keeping notes before, but i often forget by the time I get to writing them down. Cool part about the video is that I can share it with someone.
