I know some of you on here are farmer's, and I'd just like to say thank you, from one farmer to another. Beef prices are going down around me idk about the rest of you, and with the possibility of joe biden getting in office it looks bleak to say the least. So thank you for keeping on, keeping on and best of luck to you fellas

I don’t think it’s going to be good, I’ve been trying to find 500 pound colored feeders and man people are paying threw the nose for them and the fat market is staying put which can be an indicator that it’s going to go down, China has back off buying, probably waiting to see what kinda deal they can get from Biden, so I’m a little nervous but on the bright side corn is a decent price now.

Yeah I am nervous too, I'm kinda just starting out so I'm holding off on some investments that I need to make.

I'm only planning to start with a few head primary to eat. Maybe attempt to sell a few in split halves or quarters to maybe pay for the expenses. I am putting in water lines now. Next will be replacing fencing and build another barn for hay storage. Then cows if they are not outlawed due to climate change regulations by then.

Seems to me we got most of them Democrats right were we want them, in the cities, all we gotta do is quit shipping food.

It would be my luck for the farm industry to crash, I’m waiting on an appraisal but my wife and I have been approved to buy my grandmas farm as well as about 15 head of cattle, hope it don’t crash and we can at least make the payments!

Yeah best of luck to you for sure! I'm at about 9 head of beefers rn and in the process of expanding but I've slowed way down due the uncertainty. On top of that I work for a farm down the road and our operations are kinda intertwined so we'll see what happens.

Farming and trapping, I only pick the high profit jobs. LOL. Good thing I've got a retirement and my wife has a good job.

You make enough money, after deductions, to "pay" taxes? The trapping I mean.

I’m hoping to start a tree farm in the near future. Landscaping trees, not timber. I love growing trees, it gives me a lot of joy. I hope I can make some money at it. I plan on selling mostly 8’ + tall trees, “instant shade” type. People will pay a whole lotta money for a tree they don’t have to wait years to get shade from.

330 - We got a new bull this fall too. He is a Hereford and I am running him on my black cows which are sim-angus - mutt crosses. I am hoping for some baldy faced calves next fall.

I went to a cow sale last weekend and some bred heifers were bringing around $1000 but they were a tad under 900 lbs. Good 3-5 year old 3rd period cows bringing around 1425 with 7 year olds around 1200. Young bulls bringing 1650 to 2800.
