Looking at buying some beaver footholds what's the best for the money. TS85 is what I'm thinking but is there something comparable thats cheaper?

Will let the more professional trappers let ya know the best traps, but i just use #4DLS because i've used them for years & years. If i had to buy new would get largest legal sized coil springs
Till that day.....

Quality will earn their keep hold their value. I've never used the ts85 but have only heard favorable reviews. Right now I'm using MB750's and am quite pleased with my results but then a lot of beavers have meet their maker with #4 LS. Couldn't hurt to add one or two to your arsenal.

I had some Ts85s and for some reason I ended up with a lot of empty traps at the bottom of the slide wire. And I've heard the same from other beaver trappers. My money would be spent On MB750s Or the 4.5 sleepy creek long spring. But your going to have to man up to be able to set them. And I don't like the idea of heaving to carry setters with me on the line.

Bridger 5s are pretty reasonably priced, and personally I love them for beaver. The double long springs I can set over my knee. The coilsprings are awesome too.

And I don't like the idea of heaving to carry setters with me on the line. I have the 750s. I also run a lot of MB 550s and I find myself using the setters more on the 550s than I do the 750s. I can get my toes on the levers of a 750 and keep my balance, I can't seem to do that on the 550.

I have used MB 750s and they work but I have switched to the NO BS Beaver Extreme. They are dogless, built like a tank and flat out hold what steps in them. And I can set them and remove catches without setters. Beaver trap beast mode!

I like my sleepy creek 4 1/2's I nightlatched them. Theyre real sturdy and you can set em over your knee easier than coils Remind me not to mess with you!! Just kidding . I can't no way in heck do that, I can't even compress the springs enough standing on them and pulling on the jaws. O.P.... might want to check out NO BS never traps made by kendall obermeir
