Finally landed permission on my first beaver property, big thank you to the folks on this forum who helped me get started. This property has a little pond in the center of the farm with a medium-small sized creek running along the property boundary. Property-owner said there are multiple dams within the creek but didn't mention anything about beaver activity in the pond. It'll be another 2-3 weeks before I can get out there and do a property check. In the meantime, I'll be running through some of my beaver trapping books to prepare. Any final words of advice before I get out to the property? Looking forward to creek trapping, seems like it could be some fun.

Watch the rise and fall of water levels. We have side restrictions on traps that must be covered by water if over x size. I have expected over night with rain making my set useless becuse it would be to deep. I set anyway only to have my trap setting 8" on dry land the next morning. It can be tricky.

In my experience beaver trapping is quite addictive.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Not to high jack this thread but since it's about beaver trappping. Do you guys think a cinder block is heavy enough for the end of a drowning rig?

Learn to be proficient with all the legal methods of taking beaver. In all my years of of trapping the things, versatility is solid gold. Especially when you get paid to catch em all.
