I noticed that the Newhouse 35 thread "disappeared" from the Trap Collecting site on T-Man...... Discounting the faked pan, is the rest of the trap legit. What chain/clevis SHOULD be on a 35? Was there ever a 35 made?? Are the springs corrects??? The base????

As a Pre-64 Winchester collector, I remember the words of George Madis... "There're more Fancy Finished, Engraved, Special Order Winchesters out in the market, than we're ever produced by Winchester,"

I taught for 44 years...... Knowledge is POWER!

Newhouse definitely produced a 35 and 25 bear trap sometime around 1888 some people believe they were only made for that one year others believe it was longer..the ones I have seen the 25 had triphammered springs on the 25 and factory on the 35 but could be either way, both the 25 and 35 had the Kenwood pan stamping, the base plate, jaws and chain were the same as the NH no.5 and 15 at the time..that's my .02 cents worth

Mike.... THANKS! Without input from those in the know, the history of collectibles, whether guns, traps or anything worth keeping for posterity, will be lost.

I remember the Blake and Lamb bear trap thread from years ago on T-Man.... Sold at auction for mega bucks. The value is subjective, as it depends on the bidders, THAT DAY, bidding, but to see the pictures of the trap..... PRICELESS!

The OP asked that the 35 thread be removed and the bossman removed it.
