I made some stakes for dps a while back, but I made them too short and coons tend to pull them if the ground ain't froze. Instead of making new stakes cause I already have 12 of these, what would be my best solution? Shock springs? Longer chain? Thanks in advance

Weld on a lug a few inches from the bottom of the stake. A hunk of rebar or a nut. If no welder a few wraps of wire & a nut might do the same thing for ya but I don't know how long it would last.

Weld a 1.5" flat washer about 2/3 down stake. It will keep it from spinning and make it much harder to pull up....including by you

Put another swivel on the end of the chain and double stake doing a crossways configuration.

I’d just double stake as well.

Cut a few barbs into it with a cold chisel.

I made them about 12" long. 1/2" rebar with a flat washer on top.

Cut the top off and weld 2 of them together so its 24" long. 12" rebar stake is near worthless.

If you do this make sure you weld them vertical, not horizontal

I make all my stakes 24", just like I cut all my firewood the same...so it can be used anywhere!

I use 18- 24 in. 3/8s rebar depending how long the piece is to cut up washer on top roughly same length of chain Leave a little sticking up so the chain can swivel around the stake

Problem THATS EASY

Use what you have. Just cross stake, using a cross stake swivel.
