If a dog gets caught in a trap in town here it’s the dog owner who’s in trouble for having the dog off it’s leash. I happen to know from personal experien....ahhh I mean a friend told me so.
If you take care of the land the land will take care of you

Update. It looks like the House could be under democratic control again this session, but worst yet the senate seams to be organizing as a democratic controlled senate. Leaks have been noting Senator Click Bishop is in favor of this. If this happens, this bill has legs! Let Senator Bishop know your thoughts. His contact info is: Senator.Click.Bishop@akleg.gov and his phone number is:Toll-Free: 800-336-7383.

That is correct. According to Alaska law, only the Board of Game is authorized to regulate trapping. Why else would Sen Josephson be trying to pass a bill to MAKE IT LEGAL?!!! But just because it isn't legal, doesn't mean some municipalities aren't DOING it! They will do it as long as they can get away with it, but that does not make it legal! Be patient, ATA is working on getting this straightened out in court. But it takes time, money and lawyers! Pete

So am I suppose to believe no one in Kenia city limits is trapping rodents and squirrels?

Juneau also has trapping "laws" on the books, and sadly, there was a time when AST enforced it for them! No kidding. The local ordinance was even included in the state trapping regulations. Thankfully, Wildlife Protection, as well as ADFG, have both dis-continued these practices.
Just doing what I want now.

So am I suppose to believe no one in Kenia city limits is trapping rodents and squirrels? Haha, no you're not. It's an absurd, vague law. It also says in the same section, "no one may intentionally kill any animal," but hunting and small farming is legal in city limits. I'd be willing to bet there is also some fur trapping going on, as expansive as Kenai city limits are. I just wasn't aware that the local regulation was illegal. Thanks for the info guys.
Boco couldn't catch a cold. But if he did, it would be Top Lot.

Local jurisdictions (incorporated cities and boroughs) might have some authority but if they do I believe it is limited to their own property. For example a city-owned park. As for federal or state land within city limits, no.
you can vote your way into socialism, but you will have to shoot your way out.

-TJ I believe your brother is an expert in this regard, no?!!!!!! Pete Unfortunately. Though, now I hear they have a fox problem in town and are trying to get folks to trap them. Odd how the circle seems to close. -TJ

Nome also restricts trapping in City limits.
-TJ I left there in 2012. At that time a city permit was required to trap in town. Otherwise no restrictions. But with so few people (2) trapping, enforcement was nil. Jimmies bro was on city council after I left. Anything change? Fox problems are regular in Nome. Rabies is a controlling factor in the fox population.

I got stopped by city police when beaver damage control trapping in Fbks. limits, 1988 I think. State lawyer and city lawyer went toe to toe, sorta. Result was city may BAN trapping on public safety grounds. Could not "regulate". I believe F&G had to quit the damage control for a while. I believe it came back later with multiple beaver problems in town. Let's not poke THAT sleeping bear! ADFG/ATA's "educational beaver trapping" program in the Chena is working just great! Pete
