I got a old recipe from glen hanson book , liver rot it down to a paste Maybe 2 years and add equal amount of seal oil and the rest is water stained to bad to even guess what it says.
I'm not much on any liver , to sloppy to be anything I like to work with.
Let me sugar coat this

Last fall I used a lot of deer liver with good success. Found up some fresh deer Liver and added a little caster to it and aged it for a few weeks. Still in the early testing stages right now but it seems to be working well for me. Different coyotes in different areas have different preferences. What's hot in one area can be stone cold in another.
Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

I just used chunked pieces of fresh deer heart and liver after deer season down the dirt holes and and had pretty good success with them. 2"x2" chunks roughly, and dribbled a little blood at the mouth of and down the hole with it. The coyotes seemed to want to work to get at it. .......that would simulate the same smell of gut piles from deer season

Cletis, A few years ago, Rusty Johnson and I ground about 20 gallons of deer livers, some deer hearts, empty deer stomachs, and bloodshot deer meat. We ran it thru the grinder about 4 times that resulted in a paste. Each time we ran it thru we added sodium benzoate and glycerin. Probably used about 2 gallons of SB and 3 gallons of glycerin. I still have about 5 gallons of this bait. Good stuff....still has that fresh gut smell. Sonetimes I add a few drops of skunk per pint just b4 I use it.
