In such high demand here these days I had to order back in the fall for the following season. 2 batches of 25 each starting mid June. I want to raise during the height of bug season and while the gardens are underway for positive nutritional opportunities.

I don't like to start them this yearly. To cold and when they are big enough I have an outdoor pen.

Last year was crazy getting any kind of chicks hatchery I use say there available so hopefully ile get them early March. I'm planning on buying 100 courtnix quail to but there 300 bucks. Found a guy 4 hours south that hatches his own for a buck each so looks like I'm makeing a 4 hour drive for them

You can place your order now for delivery later on the year.


My wife has talked about placing her orders. Some customers have increased their orders for this year. I'm not sure if she made the orders yet or not. If not she needs to get a move on. Thinks for the reminder to ask her about it

We will try and hatch some again this year. We only got about 65% hatch last year and our red rangers were being crossed with a less desirable rooster. We need to get on top of that and get a better mix.

Not related to live chickens, but a chicken producer in NC started selling products in bulk quantities. They come to our community about every six weeks. A 40lb box of thighs is sold for $15. The chicken is excellent.

Wow that is a real deal. Do you can? The last time we bought legs and thighs we canned them. This makes for the best creamed chicken or just take out of jar and make chicken salad. Getting 40lbs of protein for $15 is a super deal. No reason to go without protein for dinner!
