I'm not sure what to consider a town.

My township has a municipal building, no police department, two guys who work 2 days a week at the local convenience center (dump) and 3 days a week as the road crew, clean up crew, etc.

The township 100yds from me has no municipal building, a K-8 school with 100 students, and the mayor, treasurer, and tax assessor work out of their living rooms. The town council has been the same 3 farmers for 20 years because they can't talk anyone else into running. They take turns being the mayor.

But, 15 minutes away I have a Walmart and a "town" of 20,000 people.

No stop light in the whole county or the county west of us. County seat has about 1800 people, 2800 in the county. About 100 people in the zip code.

Monowi, NE. Population 1. Smallest town I know of. It has a bar. Guess where the entire population works! smile

My town had a sign at the city limit (just off I-29) advertising all of our immenteties.
12 bars, 12 churches, 3 restaurants.
Slightly embarrassing.

Yup, I stayed there 2 winters 97 and 98 lion hunting. I would imagine just about anyone crossing the Big Horns has probably stopped for gas or food when they rolled through. smile

It is beautiful country but I always wondered if the winters wouldn't weed most people out. Of course trackin lions might warm a mans blood no matter what the wind chill.
