Mac, I like parsnips they stay white for a while, like to change bait every two days,the lure I use says it has rat glands in it, my dad used to rub glands on the boards, he said that’ll get em going.
Bryce, there are bites , I would call about 10% damaged, some others have some damage but it is expected in spring.



Worked in shop today, cleared stretchers, cleaned up some casters and oil glands, skun fleshed and stretched yesterday’s catch.

Had a good check, caught 11 today but mink or bird got one, first time I ever caught one by the head, one float has caught three doubles in a row, wind was cold today.

I know nothing about float trapping, but if you have a spot that has caught 3 doubles, why wouldn't you being another float or two and catch like 6 at once?

Carolina, I have tried that, and sometimes it's just more hassle than it's worth.

Had nice check with my sister 3 rats,1 beaver in 220 that I just returned to service yesterday. My sister is a quick study, i this we were at the seventh float and snap, caught her fingers in #1 longspring . Water is going down will take tomorrow off and check Monday.

Worked in shop today, fleshed and stretched a beaver for my friend, put up yesterday’s rats, and skun yesterday’s beaver, listened to old country radio, and sipped coffee, had a pork roast for dinner. Life is good.check day tomorrow.

Long day, my buddy Wyatt Erpp checked with me today, we caught 6 rats and one more small beaver, then back to shop to skin feet and flesh otter, flesh small beaver and couple beaver tails for the tanning pickle.cleaned a couple sets of castors and took a few rats off boards, Wyatt skun today’s beaver and the one he caught today, skun fleshed and stretched today’s rats, and fleshed Wyatt’s beaver. Stretch a beaver in morning and then pull half the line tomorrow.

Half way motor won’t shift, bolt loosened up and striped out , a little tie wire saved the day.

Just two rats and one small beaver today. Pulled the rest of traps today.77 rats and 3 beaver in 14 days, was it worth it, it was to me. I’m fortunate to be in the position not to have to put a dollar value on everything I do.Just glad I was able to do it,Thanks for riding along, sale day Saturday.
