I live in Saint Mary's, going to drive a boat from the Yukon bridge back to Saint Mary's in August. Does anyone have any info on Tanana, Ruby, and Galena as to whether or not they are selling gas to nonresidents or not? My boat gets an average of around 2.5 miles to the gallon, taking 275 gallons with me, which should get me close to Saint Mary's. It's about 720 miles from the bridge to Saint Mary's. I have friends in Russian Mission who can run some gas out. I am hoping to get some in Tanana, Ruby, and Galena, if they are not closed to residents of another village due to Corona Virus restrictions. Thanks for any information.

It’s been a while that I ran far enough to know my miles per gallon. As I tried to remember thinking that 2.5 miles to the gallon was excessive then I remembered the last time I went close to 200 miles up and back down river then it came to me that 2.5 mpg isn’t that bad.
Anyway I wish I could help you with the information but wish you a good trip and watch those islands full of mosquitos! LOL

Going downstream I get 3 miles per gallon with a normal load, but figure since I'm loaded heavy, I'll only get 2.5. I plan on floating two hours a day, and driving the rest, with frequent stops. I am in no hurry, have 7 days to get back to the village. More interested in not tearing my boat and motor up and not stressing out from being in a hurry than making the trip in 3 days. You are right about the mosquitoes!

Best to call each place. Dineega fuel in Ruby. I think Crowley sells fuel in Galena and their is a tanker truck that will drive to the river. Tanana might be Tanana Commercial.
Yukon River Lodge is 15 miles up from Ruby. He sells fuel and is open almost 24-7. Very helpful guy. Sam Clark. Has a hose down to the river.
No hose in Ruby.

Now THAT is the kind of practical, helpful information that one finds on T-man! The kind that is almost impossible to find anywhere else.

Just curious what is the price of gas in St. Mary's? I think it is right around $7/gal in Galena.

5.60 a gallon. Supposed to go up soon.

Galena is consistently high. Something to do with Crowley I think.

Talked to Yukon River Lodge, gas is 6.16 a gallon, probably go up to 7 or more by late fall. They are a wealth of info on bad spots on the river to watch out for from the bridge to Galena.

Saint Mary's is up to 6.16 a gallon.
