you know how Paul feels about covid talk on his forum. But is it rue and if so, what are the ramifications? Him using covid as the excuse for doing it is secondary to the consequences, imo.

Trudeau is rolling the dice. He has a minority government that can be brought down at any time with a non confidence vote in Parliament. He would like to have a majority government so he could run out a 4 year mandate without worrying about a non confidence vote if he pushes thru some unpopular legislation. He figures his approval rating is high enough after handing out all kinds of covid money that he can secure a majority government at the polls at a time of his choosing. Be nice to see the Conservatives kick him to the curb.

Nothing new in how our parliamentary system works. This has nothing to do with Covid, its a political calculation based on polling numbers. All party's have done it over the years, all for political gain.
Think its a stupid time for an election, only good thing is that the campaign is only 30 days long.

Right now Trudeau is operating with a minority govt. so he has to kiss a** to another party to gain enough votes to pass any bills of any importance He has been handing out money left, right and center, and now he thinks he can get a majority vote.

The reason Canada will be lost is that trudeau is changing the population, through immigration, to rest control from conservative Canadians. "A return to normal immigration patterns with these higher targets would mean that in 2021 Canada could expect: 100,568 new permanent residents from India; another 35,538 immigrants from China; 32,688 from the Philippines; 14,805 from Nigeria; 12,684 from Pakistan; 12,667 from the United States; 11,891 from Syria; 8,260 from Eritrea; 7,173 from South Korea, and; 7,115 from Iran in the same year." https://www.immigration.ca/where-will-canadas-401000-immigrants-come-from-in-2021Keith

I think that for the best, Canada and all it provinces should divide to be their own separate governing base.
Instead of letting the Ottawa leftist's run and ruin their life style. So much difference across that country, its amazing.

Kieth is just a xenophobe that thinks every immigrant is a lib but fails to understand that many many of them have conservative values and vote accordingly especially Indians and Pakistanis I am very much not a xenophobe. Most of my family's friends are foreign born. My very first friend was Chinese. The two friends I hung out the most with last year were a Jordanian and a Mexican. Around 60% of my customers are foreign born. I talk to them. My friends are conservative, but most of my customers are not. The people being brought over enmasse by the democrats in the US and by trudeau's party in Canada are mostly not conservative either. As I have frequently posted, I think we should allow more immigration. I just don't think we should allow in any low end immigrants. The US and Canada should only allow in people who will be productive members of society, who will assimilate into the prevailing culture. Keith

I am afraid. Most votes are concentrated in larger cities , particularly in southern Ontario and Quebec. The groper is looking for a majority gov't and if he gets it , well let me just say.....You think you have it bad. Our one hope is a Conservative named Otoole who is not well known to the populace and this coupled with most of the east voting liberal last election does not bode well ,unless the east changes course. O'toole lost the election a few days ago when he gave Yukon MP candidate Jonas Smith the boot. They wont let Jonas run as their candidate even though he did the last time and was a sure bet to win this time. The reason?? They wont let Jonas run because he is against vaccine passports. That was the conservative party's official press brief. Took everyone by surprise, and ruined any hope the CP had of winning. According to the news lots of people called in and canceled their memberships. I was one of them. Thats what we have for a conservative party in Canada. There is no hope. You are right to be afraid. From here on out the PPC will get my support. I will never give the CP another dime.
