Maybe they took it off sale because their new inventory cost them more. I don't see a problem here as long as money wasn't exchanged beforehand. I got odds that James craps on this thread before page 2 is done... What we need , is to bring wages back to what they were in 1933 !!! In 1933, the average Lawyer made just $3,868 for the whole year !! If that figure is true, you do realize that was a darn high income in 1933?

Academy does this too and I agree it's sleazy way of doing business. Sometimes I don't believe they ever had the item for sale at the advertised price. They just want to get peoples attention and then sell it to them later at a higher price.

A similar thing happened to me, Midlander. Midway advertised a sale price on some brass I needed all summer long--but they were out of stock and wouldn't take backorders.
Then in September they got in the product--but immediately took it off sale. My complaint to their "customer service" resulted in a kiss-off.
The old bait-and-switch. Midway lost my business.
Jim Geez some people are ridiculous. They had an item on sale, ran out of it, and never bothered to update the website because well, they didn't have any TO sell. They wouldn't take back orders because they didn't know how much the price would go up by the time they were finally able to get some in. When they DID get some in, likely having paid a higher price, they then updated the website and listed the item for sale. What the heck did you want them to do? Sell thousands of orders of brass at a loss??

The one thing I saw in the OPs post here that makes his complaint a little more valid than James, is he said they sent him an email notification that the items were in stock again and that that email also listed the sale price. Now that part seems kind of shady.

I bet if the price went down instead of up we wouldn't of heard a word about it. lol

Things are pretty crazy. Sure looks like another real estate bubble with anybody who applies getting a loan again. Is it just a manipulation to have an excuse to create money again? Is the dollar really that shaky? We never really been here before. Had some awful inflation in the late 70's early 80's but jobs were scarce. Lots of people had to just take whatever they could get and at low wages. Lots more were just unemployed. This time the carnival ride has jobs, good jobs, available for the asking.

PS. I think midway just owes people an apology for making a mistake

Midway sent me email fliers all summer long advertising the sale price. They may have had to pay higher prices when they did get product, but they shouldn't have ran ads for three months at the sale price for product they knew they didn't have.
I disagree with those who think I'm wrong to complain. Anyway, it's my own spending money I'm talking about. I don't expect anyone to drop Midway, as I've done.

Some of you are apparently clueless how things operate. They aren’t sitting around a table each week discussing what to put on sale and how to fool people. The ads and sales are for the most part automated, and some of the sales are scheduled way in advance. Some times things just work out that they run out of an item at the same time it goes on sale, even less surprising with the supply chain issues right now. Its just bad luck and didn’t cost anyone here a nickel. Franky, the customers they may lose over something so simple are the customers they’re better off without. You may be right, might just be bad luck, im known for that. But ill disagree about the nickel comment, it did cost them a few nickels...both in losing this purchase and any future purchases. However, im guessing mr potterfield will get by just fine without my business

"Sorry we have bad customer service, but it's all automated." Potterfield throws up his hands helplessly.

Boy ADC if you aint a smart one, guess you get the einstein award today.
I guess so. I just explained the most logical explanation for the situation and you and James won't hear it because you got let down when you didn't get a steal on something that was advertised at a lower price in the past. I suppose you go to the grocery store and expect to buy food at last week's sale prices? Same thing. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings.

You had already made your comment....just figured you had to come around again and get a 'dig' in to get a laugh. Grow up.
