Anyone have any lines on some 7x57 brass?

Mine are starting to split and all my sources are sold out. Found some loaded Federal @ 60 bucks a box plus shipping! shocked. No thanks!

Sorry, I can't help you on locating any brass, but something I've started doing that has really softened up my necks is annealing. Started seeing a fair amount of split necks from my .22-250 brass and decided to try it. So far it seems like it's breathed some life into my cases, haven't seen any splits yet from that same batch.

Hope you find some brass. I just settled for buying some federal power shok and will reload the brass after using them. Got a moose with the ammo. I am patiently waiting for large rifle primers to come into stock. Have enough small rifle primers to get me through the next couple of seasons of hunting.

anneal and try a collet sizing die it is a neck size only

you don't put as much stress on the brass just pushing the neck back around the mandrill

I looked and can not find any

you can make it from 270 or 30-06 but it is a bit of a process

I shoot a lot of rifle calibers and have done a lot of case conversions as well. As mentioned above, annealing the necks really does add useful life to the amount of firings and can be a near necessity if forming from other brass. Also, the neck sizing as mentioned above prolongs life as well. You can neck size with your regular full length sizer by simply adjusting it, but the collet style dies work the brass less so they are the best choice for trying to stretch out the life of your cases. If you don't have any annealing experience, there are some great youtube videos and although a purpose built machine is nice, good results can be had with simple household tools. If you have some of your split necked cases start on them to get the heating process figured out instead of over-annealing a good piece of brass.

hippie, here is a 100 count of brass that is new/once fired. Probably won't be cheap by the time bidding stops. It's $25 right now. Good luck!

These were annealed back when. I use to stand them in a shallow tray of water, heat the neck and tip them over.

Now a days, I do them one at a time.

Thanks for the replies guys! I think ill just put it back in the cabinet and use my 06 until I find some brass for sale at a retailer. After looking at Coondaggers site and looking up the gun I have, its probably best to bubble wrap it for the prices I saw!

I have a ton of it laying around here somewhere. Remind me after deer season and I'll look to see how much I have.
