If you've ever wondered how a fox can slip through a snare or CR.

I saw one run through a culvert pipe no bigger than it’s tail.

As soon as a animal hits the bottom of my snare loop it FIRES

Loaded or Double loaded snare is all I use.

Another reason why height off the ground is more important than loop size in most scenarios.

Lots of people think a partly closed snare on the ground means something slipped through it, when in fact MOST of the time it's something went over it. 10" off the ground is not too high for fox at most locations, beaver snares on land should be 4" off the ground, for big coons 6-8" and coyotes, often 14" is just right. There are of course circumstances that dictate a lower or higher snare. Height is more important than loop size IMO.

YES

The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

Most trappers set their loops too big and too high.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Agree 100% with height. Just place something small and natural to get their nose off the ground before the snare. Plus a loaded snare always helps.

One thing about the video, the fox stops, chooses, then proceeds, where a snare in a trail , under normal circumstances, is made contact by an animal traveling a normal gait, so...not nearly the same thing.

The reason a lot of trappers miss animals in snares is , as Boco pointed out : " too big and too high " and to which I would add not properly blocked !
