I am interested in possibly going black bear trapping this fall in Maine. I am hoping to hear from some that have first hand knowledge and may be able to provide some recommendations and insight. Thank you

Big trailer cage works well for bear and easy to release females and cubs.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Big trailer cage works well for bear and easy to release females and cubs. Forgot about them.Got to be big enough for the bear to be able to turn around and ventelated.Last I knew must be included with strands of wire at certain heights and warning signs on all four sides.

Why would you want to warn the bear that it is a trap ? LOL

So what do you do when a small bear that you don't want to harvest is in your trap? Guessing that would be pretty interesting. In a box trap just open the door[don't stand in front of door while doing this].In a foot cable pin the bear down with a brushy evergreen tree and take the foot cable off.Easier done with two people.

I bet that was a fun release Cut a nice thick evergreen tree and pinned the bear by laying it on top of the bear and walking it down while my younger brother released him.Was interesting to say the least
