Never bought any. I always figured they were just #9 wire on 1/4 or 3/8 rod.

i think snareshop and F&T have clones of it. Should be in any of the more recent O'gorman's catalog. last one I have is 97, the hat pins came out in '02 i believe

Doug Moniker ( sp ?) used to make them for Craig.
Not sure they are still made. In rocky areas it shines, because it is basically a large spike nail with (shaped) # 9 wire welded to it.
It can be hammered into a rock crack, even on a sheer wall.
In normal soil types my support would offer more stability as it has two points of contact, instead of the single one you've mentioned.

Doug Moniker passed away a year or so ago I believe but I had bought several dozen from him back in the early 2000's. They are about 16" of 3/8 rebar with a 3/16 rod welded to the rebar and then 24" of #9 wire welded to that. If I get a chance I will take a picture of one and post it plus one of my own version.

If you can find some 1/4" or 3/8 ths" square stock you can make your own supports.
I make mine about 19" long drill two holes about 6" apart and run the wire through the top hole bend It and shove It through the bottom hole and then bend down the tag end.
Being square they won't turn on you and you won't have any problems driving them Into frozen ground.

I could never get use to using a wire support. You have 20" or so of wire standing up then another 10" or so bent parallel to the ground to hold the snare. And then after a catch you have this tangled up mess to deal with.
With my system the coyote gets caught and It just knocks down the support when the ground Is soft and when the ground Is frozen it just gets bent over. I've been using the same supports for years. some times you need to replace the wire and re bend a few but they will last forever.
