Well my day started off pretty good. Nice hard pack on the snow was able to zip around and dig gear up and get some gear back into action. It was a pretty day
And then I ran up my creek and that all changed
No problem going up but on my return the overflow got me good. The top layer was solid but there was three feet of water under it.
I messed around with it for almost an hour before I knew I had to make a call cause I wasnt getting it out by myself. Now if I had a come along, a pole, and rope it would have been easy peezy. Todays adventure was to break trail and I left the pull behind sled at home. That was a mistake.
Called a good buddy Matt (AK TRAPR) and asked if he could come rescue me
He had ran my line with me 2 years ago and had a general idea were I was. He said sure let me get my gear and I will head that away. Called the wife and had her drop off rope a pole and a axe at the truck for Matt to grab on his way out. Plus he is on the Valley search and rescue team so this excited him
Long story short he showed up 2 hours later and 5 minutes later we were out and cruising the rest of the line
Ran into this tree across the trail and Matt decided to try out my new axe
Blessed to have people and friends in my life that when you need help the most they are johnny on the spot
Be safe out there!
