A friend sent me these pictures a few minutes ago. They were found by him on his farm (where I trap) near my house. They look like possibly turkeys dragging feathers as well as maybe deer and coyote using the same trail. It just snowed here yesterday about 2 inches so these are fresh last night or early this morning. If I get done with work early tomorrow I will stop and check them out in person. We had sun and warm temps today so they are losing definition. Anyone have any idea what they could be?

On the left side there is a recurring pattern all the way throughout the trail, as if it is a round object being towed.

What are the snow conditions? Is it wet and heavy or light and fluffy or something in between. Had a fellow with a funny looking track on his land similar to yours tracks on one side and a slide on the other. He couldn't figure it out but it was a cat dragging a rabbit.
Yours looks like a critter draging something, in my mind it looks like it had it by the neck belly down, as the outside (wheel marks) would be the back legs the zigzag would be a front leg swinging and the "feather marks" are fur. My guess is a small deer.
On second look the outside drag mark may have too many ridges to be a hoof IDK tough read from one picture. The third heavy drag mark in the middle makes me think it was a 4 footed animal

looks to me like some sort of wheeled cart...the track seems too straight and ut distances too conforming to be an animal dragging something...But who really knows at this point..

At this point I have no idea but whatever was being dragged was pretty heavy to sink in that far. If you get a chance to go there follow them as far as they go and I think you will find the answer.
I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!
