Every season I expand on my lures and baits. I always go with a new lure maker and buy most of his lures and at least one of his baits. This pertains to predator trapping. As my other species i got a staple and won't steer away. This seasons was keg creeks. And I really liked. So far. In my collection. I use cavens, keg creek, o'gormon, Dobbins, junes, Carmen's, predator control group. All have produced. Anyone have any suggestions that would be a good one that I could use for next season?

I know Seldom actually testes the lures he uses and recommends and keeps a very good record of catch ratios on everything he uses. He also knows what a good reaction to an lure/bait is compared to an average reaction is.

If I posted some of the results I got while testing some popular lures it would hurt some peoples feelers. I'm guessing that's why no one will tell you which not to use. Good news is for those that really want to know, they got 9 monthes to test before the 3 months of trapping.

All the responses here should also tell a trapper something. What works well in some geographic areas might not get the same response in different country. At the end of the day, it’s all about scouting and putting a solid set in a spot right where they’re at. I’ll take good urine all day long over every lure or bait on the market.

I've used several national brands that didn't work for me. I know they are good products, probably all in the way I use them. What works for me, may not for you.
